Today Is The Day
Andres Janacua
Opening reception April 5, 2008 from 7- 10 pm
Every Sunday and Wednesday evening through April 27, 2008
Shotgun Space is pleased to announce Andres Janacua's new exhibition, Today Is The Day.
In Today Is The Day, Andres Janacua addresses identity and loss across a variety of media. Through a personal iconography, Janacua attempts to reconcile his work and interests with the history before him:
How can one rationalize their importance when all sense of connection to the icon is only materialized through stories, books, wikipedia, other connections? Perhaps all this speaks far more of our contemporary climate than I think: perhaps it is indicative of where we are today, that we are required to look long ago for a sense of identity, importance, or even a basic understanding.
Today Is The Day will be on display at Shotgun Space through April 27th, with an artist's reception on April 5th, from 7 to 10 pm. All are welcome.
