michael beck was born in Illinois. he studied drawing and painting for most of his life, then went on to study photography and film at the university of southern california for a bachelor of arts degree. In 2005 he took a sabbatical in the pacific northwest. he has since returned to los angeles, where he is an mfa candidate in film at art center college of design.
